Person taken to Strong Hospital with burns

Rochester, N.Y.- An employee at an optical glass plant in Rochester was burned Thursday by an electrical arc.

It happened inside Advanced Glass Industries on Emerson Street.

Rochester firefighters said a contractor was working on the electrical system of a machine when an explosion occurred. An employee who was nearby was burned.

The 57-year-old victim received burns to 25 percent of his body; mainly to his face, hands and arms.

His name has not been released. The man was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

No one else was injured.
