Drake apologizes for Hoffman cover controversy

New York (AP) -- Rapper Drake said he was frustrated he got bumped off the cover of Rolling Stone magazine but meant no disrespect to Philip Seymour Hoffman, the late actor whose face is on the cover instead.

Drake said he completely supports and agreed with putting Hoffman on the cover, saying Hoffman was "legendary."

The rapper lashed out at the decision Thursday, saying among other things he wished he had the option to have his cover story delayed rather than carried inside the magazine.

Hoffman, a Fairport native, died of an apparent drug overdose Feb. 2, pushing him on the cover of a number of celebrity magazines.
