Bristol starts construction of rope course
Bristol, N.Y. 2,200 feet up at the top of Bristol Mountain skiers and snowboarders will notice some woodwork among the trees. In just a few months, the area will transform into an aerial adventure park.
Drew Broderick with Bristol Mountain says there are only about 50 parks like this in the country.
The one at Bristol will feature seven courses with one hundred varying elements like zip lines and tight rope walks.
Park goers will be hooked onto a system so there is no way to detach yourself when climbing.
Broderick says this will make Bristol a year-round destination.
When typically the winter season is over, the visits around the area tend to slack off a bit, says Broderick. Now, there is a reason for families to come to the aerial park and visit the restaurants, the gas stations, and other attractions that in the Finger Lakes.
Bristol Mountain also says no trees will be damaged in making the aerial park.
The aerial adventure park is expected to open Memorial Day weekend.
