School No. 4 to receive YES WE CAN award

Rochester, N.Y. - School No. 4 went from one of the four lowest records for average daily attendance in 2011-12, to the second highest rate of attendance in 2012-13, according to the Rochester City School District.

Thursday night, Feb. 27, the "Yes We Can" Award will be presented to Principal Karon Jackson, Parent Liaison Jonnita Bennett, and Jerome Underwood, director of youth and family services.

George Mather Forbes School No. 4 Principal Karon Jackson and staff took special care to involve and monitor students' attendance, and helped parents overcome problems such as homelessness, transportation and other concerns.

The presentation takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office Bldg. at 131 West Broad St.
