Encouraging signs in Rochester crime stats

Rochester, N.Y. - Some encouraging numbers about crime in Rochester released Friday.

Property crime was at its lowest level in 25 years in 2013, while violent crime reached the lowest level in ten years.

Among the challenges: 42 homicides, eight more than in 2012, as well as more shooting victims than the year before.

Mayor Lovely Warren is in the process of returning the police department to a system of neighborhood police sections.
