Plow drivers tackle the snow

Henrietta, N.Y. It was a very difficult day on the roads for drivers and plow drivers.

13WHAM went along as a State Department of Transportation crew plowed route 490, not an easy job.

The state plows often travel in tandem to watch out for one another and keep cars from passing or cutting in front of them.

Our crew included Kenneth Griggs who tells us the biggest challenge is other drivers, both in cars and trucks.

Making sure everybody gets home safe, dealing with four wheelers, they think theyre bigger than you, they want to get around, youre going too slow for them, said Griggs.

Something else, though it might look like the road or expressway hasnt been plowed, it has. But with the burst of snow that kept falling, it meant several trips to plow and salt for road crews.
