Two charged after high-speed chase

Rochester, N.Y. - Two people are facing charges after a chase involving State Police early Wednesday.

New York State Police said that a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by Donald Hoskins, 35, near the Inner Loop at Scio Street around 1:20 a.m. As the deputy was approaching the vehicle, Hoskins allegedly drove off.

State Police said that several deputies pursued Hoskins, until he pulled over at a parking lot on Sherer Street. There, Hoskins allegedly exited the vehicle and became combative with deputies. He was eventually taken into custody. Deputies said that he displayed signs of intoxication. They also said he was carrying three bags of marijuana.

In total, the chase spanned five miles, with the suspect's vehicle reaching 90 miles per hour.

Hoskins faces several charges, including misdemeanor DWI, unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, and reckless endangerment.

There were two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. Deputies said that 26-year-old Derrick White was found with one bag of marijuana. He has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. The second passenger, 28-year-old Kerisha Dickerson, was not charged.
