Snow heading toward WNY, Northeast

Rochester, N.Y. (AP) -- A snow storm that's pounded the Midwest is going to make for a messy, and possibly dangerous, morning commute in the Northeast Wednesday.

About half an inch had fallen in parts of Monroe County by 5 a.m., with more expected throughout the day.

Elsewhere in the U.S., snow, sleet and freezing rain left thousands without power in Arkansas, and up to 5 inches of snow are expected to fall in Illinois by this morning.

In Massachusetts, some areas could get up to 12 inches of snow, and some areas, including Boston, have closed school for the day.
