Attica, N.Y. - An inmate attacked several officers Saturday night at the Wyoming Correctional Facility.

Deion Brown punched an officer in the face, knocking him unconscious and then continued to struggle violently, according to the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association.

Investigators said this happened as Brown, 19, was being interviewed by an officer and two sergeants after causing a disturbance.

It took five officers to restrain Brown.

The officer who fell to the ground unconscious was flown to the hospital and diagnosed with a concussion. The other four officers sustained minor injuries.

All the officers were released after receiving treatment.

Brown, serving three years for robbery and burglary, was taken to a special housing unit.

Mike Dildine, vice president of the state's Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association, said in a statement, This type of unprovoked attack isan alarming trendas we see a more violent inmate population, (and) overcrowded facilities.
