Snow cleanup begins after storm
Rochester, N.Y. -- The snow that covered our area Wednesday is tapering off. With that, the cleanup process begins.
All travel advisories have been lifted, but travel will likely be slow-going throughout the Thursday morning commute. Snow plows are working furiously to clean up all the remaining snow on the roads.
In New York state alone, more than 2,000 plows and salt trucks hit the road to clear the way for drivers. Crews at American Rock Salt in Mount Morris have been working around the clock to keep up with demand in New York, as well as 11 other states.
Extra shipments are heading to New York City and Long Island, where people are also facing shortages.
While the situation seems to be calming down, state and city leaders are urging people to be patient while crews clean up.
