Grape growers granted relief

Rochester, N.Y. -- Local grape growers hit hard by the long, cold winter have caught a break from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The USDA has approved disaster relief for 19 upstate counties, including Wayne, Ontario, Seneca, Yates and Wyoming.

The deal would allow farmers to receive emergency loans from the government to replace damages vines and rehabilitate farmland.
