Supervisor reacts to look inside Medley Center

Irondequoit, N.Y. -- Town Supervisor Adam Bello took a look at 13WHAM's exclusive video inside Medley Center Tuesday.

Obviously (developer Scott Congel) wants to show people he's cleaning inside the mall, but that's not what the town is concerned about right now, said Bello.

According to Bello, whats most important to the town is fixing the code violations that were filed against Congel's company, Bersin Properties, LLC.

It's three pretty simple things," Bello said. "The plowing issue took care of itself, but the other two issues still exist.

Those issues are combustibles and no working fire protection system on the property.

I still haven't seen any evidence to suggest those issues have been taken care of, Bello said.

The contractor, Eric Bauer of E.B. Galaxy Construction, hired by Congel, said when it comes to the combustibles, hes still waiting for clarification.

After we get more of a detailed explanation as to what is considered combustible and what is considered not, we'll work with the town and Bersin Properties, LLC to take care of and store anything that maybe needs to be stored off site, said Bauer.

According to Bello, the town code is clear on what's considered as a combustible, and that has been given to Congel along with notice of the violations.
