Anti-abuse campaign: Trust your suspicions

Rochester, N.Y. -- The Ad Council of Rochester launched a new media campaign to tackle child sexual abuse.

The efforts goal is to change attitudes about abuse and encourage people not to ignore their suspicions.

The Be Brave for Kids campaign launched Wednesday in conjunction with the Bivona Child Advocacy Center. Last year alone, Bivona evaluated 1,600 children for sex abuse.

The campaign's unveiling came on the heels of a recent survey conducted locally.

Advocates said if you suspect a child is being abused, you can call their hotline 1-844-BE BRAVE.
