Robbery suspect apprehended after chase

Avon, N.Y. A Rochester man is facing robbery charges after an attempted robbery at a grocery store.

Avon police say they were called to the Tops Market in Avon just before 9 a.m. after the 911 center got a call and hold-up alarm.

When police arrived the suspect, Tyrellis Austin, had already fled the scene.

A short time later, a Monroe County Sheriffs deputy saw a car matching the description driving northbound on I-390.

Austin then led police on a high-speed chase that eventually ended on 390 near the Chili Avenue exit in the Town of Gates.

Austin is being charged with robbery and is being held in the Livingston County Jail.
