Cat recovers after being burned

Rochester, N.Y. -- Bowser, a cat from New York City, is recovering after he was burned with scalding water.

Before moving to Rochester, Bowsers owner, Casmir, reported that he was a victim of animal cruelty.

After Bowser was returned to Casmir after being with trusted caregivers, his hair started to fall out, and his paws, legs and tail started to swell.

Eventually, Bowser lost skin on his legs and feet and had severe tendon damage in his hind leg.

After hearing about Bowser, Dr. Daniel Hoffman with the Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Services in Rochester offered his time to perform the surgery Bowser needed.

Rochester Hope for Pets helped Casmir pay for Bowsers care.

According to Bowsers Facebook page, he is doing well after one tendon repair surgery and is recovering before another.
