Senecas to skip Henrietta meeting

Henrietta, N.Y. -- The Seneca Nation of Indians said it will not attend a town board meeting Wednesday night to discuss a proposed casino in Henrietta.

Town Supervisor Jack Moore announced his opposition to the potential development at the boards March 7 meeting.

The Senecas called the town boards proposed action against a casino premature. They purchased 32 acres of land on Clay Road as a potential development site. They said they will reevaluate plans and comment further after any action is taken.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Henrietta Town Hall on Calkins Road.
