Common Core moratorium awaits vote

Albany, N.Y. -- A two-year moratorium on the Common Core could be approved as early as Monday by the New York State Assembly.

The nationally used teaching curriculum has been heavily criticized since being implemented last year.

The proposed moratorium would run through the end of the 2014-15 school year. It would still allow Common Core testing to take place, but exams would not impact student records or teach and principal evaluations.
