People jump for survival in apartment fire
Detroit (AP) -- A fire has gutted an apartment complex on Detroit's west side, forcing dozens of people out of their homes. Many of them jumped from windows on the second and third floors.
There are no reports of deaths from the fire, which broke out at around 6 a.m. Wednesday. At least four people were taken to hospitals for treatment, while others were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Firefighters said they rescued about 25 people who were given shelter in a bus before being taken to a nearby church.
Police had been called to the building a few hours earlier to deal with a disturbance at a party. They're investigating whether that was related to the fire.
