University of Rochester tuition expected to increase
Rochester, N.Y. University of Rochester students will be seeing a tuition hike in the fall of 2014.
The increase of tuition will be 3.5 percent, up to $46,150 compared to the 2013-14 school year.
The price for room and board is also expected to increase by 4.4 percent to $13,638.
While tuition is increasing, so is the colleges commitment to student financial aid, which has increased by 7.8 percent.
The universitys professional schools are also expected to see an increase in tuition beginning in the fall: the School of Medicine and Dentistry will increase by 4.1 percent to $48,400; the School of Nursing will increase 3.3 percent to $59,660; Simon School of Business will see a 3.5 percent increase to $50,820; and the Warner School of Education tuition will increase 3.8 percent to $41,472.
The tuition rate increases were approved by the Board of Trustees at the March meeting.
