Butler, N.Y. -- New York State Police are investigating a serious accident involving a Wayne County highway employee Monday morning.

Police said Terry Young, 58, of Clyde, was standing behind a parked truck facing northbound when he was hit by a northbound vehicle driven by Marvin Jay, 83, of Red Creek.

It happened just before 9 a.m. Monday on Spring Lake Road in the Town of Butler.

Investigators said Young was wearing his reflective vest and the truck had its four-way flashers and overheads lights on at the time of the incident.
