RIT increases online security

Henrietta, N.Y. - Members of the RIT community are being asked to change their passwords as a result of the "heartbleed" hacking.

A notice sent out Thursday to RIT students and staff says that the school's IT department is installing patches in the college's network.

A small portion of RIT's network remains offline as security is increased.

The heartbleed hacking affected as many as a third of all internet sites.
