NYS TAP grants increasing

Albany, N.Y. -- College students in New York state will soon see a slight increase in financial aid for the first time in 14 years.

The state increased the maximum grant for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) by $165 for the 2014-15 school year, with the highest grants being worth $5,165 per year.

The funding can only be used for students who attend schools in New York state.
