Six Buffalo police officers placed on leave

Buffalo, N.Y. - According to 13WHAM News' sister station WKBW, an investigation is now underway in a case of alleged police brutality in Buffalo, that started after a video of the incident was posted online.

The video, posted to Facebook last Thursday is now going viral.

In the video, a male suspect appears face down on the sidewalk, with as many as 4 police officers holding him down.

The suspect is repeatedly heard saying "officer please stop" and "I'm sorry" and yelling in pain.

An officer is seen on the tape slapping and kicking the victim in the head as he lay on the ground handcuffed.

Eyewitness News contacted the Buffalo Police Department for comment.

A spokesman tells us the department tells us the Internal Affairs Division is investigating the incident and six police officers have been placed on leave.

Police have not released the name of the victim, or the location where the incident happened.
