RIT students develop deer detector

Henrietta, N.Y. -- A concept developed by students at the Rochester Institute of Technology could keep drivers safer on the road at night.

A group of doctoral students developed an infrared camera that beeps to warn drivers when deer are close to their vehicles.

The system alerts drivers while allowing them to keep their eyes on the road.

The concept technology will be unveiled during the schools Imagine RIT event Saturday.
