UR study links memory loss, depression

Rochester, N.Y. -- A University of Rochester study has revealed a link between memory loss and depression.

Researchers found aging adults with low levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) hormones suffered from higher rates of both depression and memory loss.

They said while other studies linked depression and memory loss, this was the first to identify a cause.
