Woman kidnapped, forcibly injected with heroin

Penn Yan, N.Y. -- A Yates County man was arrested Friday after one of his relatives was found unconscious in a parking lot in Monroe County, according to the Penn Yan Police Department.

Paul West, 28, was arrested following an incident in which he went to a relative's home and demanded that he be brought to Greece to buy drugs. The victim refused and West began punching her in the head and ribs, police said.

The victim tried calling 911, but West destroyed the phone and allegedly held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her if he was not taken to Greece, investigators said.

According to police, after West bought the drugs, he forcibly injected the victim with heroin. Shortly after, she lost consciousness due to a reaction to the drugs.

The victim was left in a parking lot until she was taken to Unity Hospital by ambulance, according to police.

West was arrested at his home in Penn Yan.
