Fallen firefighter remembered

Watertown, Mass. -- A Boston firefighter who died last week after being trapped in a burning building was remembered Wednesday at a funeral service.

"We stand in awe of the sacrifice he made last week, facing one of the worst fires Boston has seen in recent history," Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said of firefighter Edwards Walsh. "He put himself in harm's way so that we might be safe. He was a true hero."

Kennedy and another firefighter, Michael Kennedy, died in the fire March 26.

After the fire was put out, fellow firefighters went back into the ashes to find Walsh's wedding rings. After 90 minutes of searching, it was found and returned to his widow.
