Kelly cancer treatment begins Monday

New York -- Former Buffalo Bill Jim Kelly will begin treatment for oral cancer Monday.

The treatment will include chemotherapy and radiation.

13WHAM's sister station in Buffalo caught up with Kelly and his family over the weekend. He said, "I know I'm going through this, but it's not just me. It's my wife, my two daughters, my brother and my dad - and of course western New York. But for me, family-wise, I need them now, and they've been there every step of the way."

In June, Kelly underwent surgery to remove cancerous cells from his upper jaw.

Kelly's doctors at Lenox Hill Hospital are confident his treatment will be successful.
