RCSD gets one proposal for East

Rochester, N.Y. -- The City School District said it received just one proposal for outside help as it weighs its options for the future of East High School.

The state education department ordered changes at the school last month because it has been underperforming. It asked city leaders to either close, phase out, convert, or allow East to have a partnership with a SUNY school.

School Turnaround was the only organization to offer a partnership by Wednesday afternoons deadline.

The district has until May 15 to make a recommendation to the state for the schools future.
