Police investigate BB gun shootings on 490

Rochester, N.Y. -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is investigating at least two confirmed incidents where cars were struck by BB pellets.

The sheriff's office said the two vehicles were each shot by a BB gun May 14 on Interstate 490 Westbound near the railroad overpass that crosses the highway just west of Mount Read Boulevard.

The incidents were not the first to be reported.

In April, two other vehicles sustained similar damage near  State Route 390 and West Ridge Road.

Tlso, a tractor trailer was damaged May 1 at the railroad overpass between Buffalo Road and the Chili Avenue exit on Interstate 390, which caused a police search that involved a helicopter and K-9 units.

However, there is no evidence so far to prove the three incidents on 390 were caused by BB guns, according to investigators.
