Study: Diet soda help weight loss

Rochester, N.Y. - An American Beverage Association study found that diet soda may help weight loss.

The study, conducted at the University of Colorado, divided a 300 adults into two groups. One group would drink diet soda and the other cut soda and diet-soda out completely, known as the "water group."

Both groups received weight loss coaching for the duration of the study.

The findings showed that the water group lost an average of 9 pounds over 12 weeks, but the diet-soda group lost an average of 13 pounds in the same time period.
