UR researchers make potential cancer breakthrough

Rochester, N.Y. -- Local researchers have found a potential breakthrough in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

University of Rochester scientists said they found a gene linked to the disease. They said blocking the genes function could slow the disease, at least in mice, though more tests are still needed.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth-deadliest form of cancer in the U.S.
