Roc City Rib Fest wraps up
Rochester, N.Y. -- A new venue and an even bigger turnout highlighted this years Roc City Rib Fest.
This time around, 125 competitors squared off in more than a half-dozen different categories.
Cooks came to Rochester from nine different states and Canada.
Genesee Valley Park provided more space for the festival and guests embraced the new location.
Genesee Valley Park our new home, it's been awesome, says Tara Gregson. See the people come in and get a chance to sit under a tree and relax if they want to be part of the bands and where the food is or if they just want to take their family and their dog and sit in a corner and enjoy each other it's been wonderful.
The final day of the festival included the peoples choice award that was, once again, given to Alexs Place from Batavia for the fifth year in a row.
Each ticket sold at the door cost $5. One of those dollars goes to the Golisano Childrens Hospital. The festival has raised more than $70,000 for the hospital in past years.
