Chris Matthews delivers address at UR

Rochester, N.Y. -- Political pundit Chris Matthews used the words of the Declaration of Independence to inspire graduates from the University of Rochester Sunday.

"What you need to remind yourself about every day is the pursuit of happiness part," Matthews said. "Your life's education after today is somehow finding out what that means for you."

More than 12,000 students and 4,000 guests gathered on the U of R's campus for the commencement address.

They all got to hear Matthews give a shoutout to Rochester's signature dish.

"I happen to be well-fortified right now with an excellent energy source," he said. "I went by Nick Tahou's last night, home of the garbage plate. It's amazing the sense of well-being that food can give you."
