Whittemore deliberations continue Friday

Rochester, N.Y. -- Jury deliberations will continue Friday in the murder trial of the man who killed his girlfriend at the College at Brockport in 2012.

Clayton Whittemore is accused of intentionally killing Alexandra Kogut in her dorm room the night of Sept. 29, 2012.

Defense attorneys have argued Whittemore should be tried manslaughter, rather than murder, because he was suffering from extreme emotional disturbance when he beat Kogut to death after years of abuse from his father.

If convicted of murder, Whittemore faces a possible life sentence.
