Man arrested in Geneva stabbing

Geneva, N.Y. - A man from Queens is in police custody, accused of stabbing another person multiple times in the neck during an altercation.

Geneva Police said that Fabian Luvel Jenkins, 38, of Queens had an altercation with 38-year-old Christopher Evans of Geneva. During the fight, Jenkins allegedly stabbed Evans multiple times in the throat.

Police said that Jenkins barricaded himself in a nearby apartment. Around 3:20 a.m., Ontario County Sheriff's deputies sent an emergency response team into the apartment to take Jenkins into custody.

Evans was transported to Geneva General Hospital, and later to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight. He underwent four hours of surgery and is currently listed in guarded condition.

Jenkins has been charged with first degree assault and is awaiting arraignment.
