Cemetery vandalized for third time in last month

Batavia, N.Y. -- A Genesee County cemetery was vandalized for the third time in the last month this weekend.

Urns and headstones were found knocked over at the Elmwood Cemetery in Batavia Saturday. More than 50 were pushed over in similar incidents in April.

Steven Davis, the cemeterys caretaker, said he believes the vandalism took place during daylight hours, and its been a frustrating month for those involved.

Im numb. Im numb, he said. Every day I go in here thinking Im going to have more stones over. Ive got to think its the same people. They just think they can get away with anything.

No arrests have been made, but police were following up on several leads.
