Clayton Whittemore found guilty of murder in second degree
Rochester, N.Y. -- Clayton Whittemore has been found guilty of murder in the second degree in the death of a SUNY Brockport student.
Whittemore killed Alexandra Kogut in her dorm room room the night of Sept. 29, 2012
The jury deliberated for just a few hours.
Defense attorneys had argued Whittemore should be tried manslaughter, rather than murder, because he was suffering from extreme emotional disturbance after years of abuse from his father.
Whittemore faces a possible life sentence.
