RCSD to vote on budget

Rochester, N.Y. -- The Rochester City School Board will vote Thursday on the proposed budget for the 2014-15 school year.

The $782 million plan would add full-day pre-kindergarten in all city schools, expand summer reading programs and add football and lacrosse teams at some schools.

About 36 teaching positions and dozens of administrative and support staff positions would be cut.

If it passes, the plan will be sent to the mayor and City Council for approval.
