Man arrested for punching dog

Seneca Falls, N.Y. -- A Seneca Falls man has been charged with injuring an animal, among other charges, after punching a dog at a friend's apartment, according to the Seneca Falls Police Department.

Police said Matthew Taylor, 30, punched and kicked a dog at a friend's apartment April 26 after refusing to leave and continuing to beat the dog.

The injured dog lost six teeth.

Taylor was physically and verbally aggressive with officers during his arrest, according to police.

Taylor was charged with criminal trespassing, injuring an animal and obstruction of governmental administration.

He was arraigned in Town of Seneca Falls Court and is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
