$9,700 raised for Penn Yan

Penn Yan, N.Y. - A benefit concert held for Penn Yan residents affected by the storm, raised $9,700.

Hundreds went to the Bat McGrath benefit concert Saturday night at Keuka College.

This community is really important to us and weve been coming to Penn Yan on the lake for decades and we wanted to support the community, said concert goer Valerie McGrath of Rochester.

The Rochester Music Hall of Fame singer held the concert to raise money for the Penn Yan community after severe storms devastated about 150 homes and businesses in Yates County.

McGrath hopes his music will raise awareness about the challenges the community is still facing after the storm.

Hopefully I can raise some money with this concert, said McGrath. More importantly, because these are my friends up here, I just wanted to rally the troops.

The $9,700 raised will benefit with Penn Yan relief fund.
