Becoming a cadet for a day?

West Point, N.Y. (AP) -- The U.S. Military Academy is looking for people willing to be a cadet for a day.

West Point needs volunteers to help current cadets prepare for the new class arriving July 2. The cadets will put the new arrivals through their paces on Reception Day, but first they will conduct a practice session on June 30 with volunteers.

West Point says volunteers will be able to experience "the initial transformation process from civilian to the military life of a new cadet."

Volunteers who are 12 and older and in good health are asked to register online at www.usma.edu or call (845) 938-8686 no later than June 26.
