Perfect weather for local vineyards

Fairport, N.Y. -- The weather is getting to that perfect temperature to plant grapes.

Winemakers at Casa Larga Vineyards were out in the field Monday, putting down vines that will be ready to harvest in about three years.

Matt Cassavaugh, a winemaker at the vineyard, said it's good to be out in the sun, especially after the harsh winter.

"It's something different every year and the industry out here kind of helps each other out and we'll figure out a way to get through it," said Cassavaugh. "The industry is really growing out here, so we're becoming more capable of overcoming anything."

The vineyard is expanding by 950 new vines.
