Rochester man sentenced on cocaine charges

ROCHESTER, N.Y. A Rochester man convicted for possessing 280 grams of cocaine was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 10 years of probation.

Probation officers raided the Kingsberry Drive apartment of Jarrel Johnson, 30, on Dec. 17, 2012. Johnson was on probation at the time for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, prosecutors said.

During the raid, contraband and evidence of narcotics were seized, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office. Prosecutors said Johnson had at least 280 grams of cocaine and intended to distribute it.

Johnson was also sentenced to two years in prison for violating an order of his supervised release, but that sentence will run concurrently to his 20 year sentence.
