Strong storm knocks down trees, power lines

Rochester, N.Y. - A strong, quick moving storm moved through Rochester's east side Tuesday afternoon, taking down trees and power lines.

Several hundred RG&E customers are without power, even though the storm moved through in a matter of minutes.

A tree fell onto power lines on Blossom Road in Penfield, while leaves and branches littered tree lined streets.

According to RG&E, eight main live power lines were taken down during the storm and crews are working to repair them.

Allens Creek Road was closed from Clover Street to East Avenue because of live power lines in the road.
