Two shootings overnight

Rochester, N.Y. Four men were injured in two separate shootings on the citys west side early Saturday morning, according to the Rochester Police Department.

The first shooting happened around 1 a.m. Saturday on Lyell Avenue, where police received a call about shots being fired into a house, police said.

The two victims, both 19-year-old city residents, were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and Rochester General Hospital in private vehicles, investigators said.

According to police, the second shooting incident happened around 2 a.m. on Thurston Road.

A fight had broken out at a house where shots were also fired, police said.

The two victims, a 24-year-old city resident and a 30-year-old Greece resident were both taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by private vehicle, police said.

According to investigators, the first victim was trying to break up the fight, while the second victim was walking from an area business when he was shot.

All four victims of the two shootings suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The two incidents are still under investigation.
