Nurse sentenced for falsifying records

Sweden, NY -  A Rochester-area nurse was sentenced Wednesday to three years of probation for falsifying patient records.

Lisa Labadee  appeared in Sweden Town Court.

She pleaded guilty to willful violation of health laws.

Labadee lied on medical records indicating she gave medication to a patient who never received it.

An investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the New York State Attorney General's Office found Labadee also falsely documented blood sugar level levels for four patients.

Labadee must surrender her nursing license.

"Today's sentencing is the latest example of our office holding negligent caregivers accountable," said Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. "When families entrust nursing facilities to care for their loved ones, they expect that proper treatment will be administered."
