D-Day veteran visits Williamson High School

Williamson, N.Y. The experiences of the past can greatly influence the leaders of the future.

When they read my bio, I kind of thought it was somebody else. It was so long ago, like another lifetime, Dawes said.

He sang the national anthem and spoke about flying over the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

My father is part of that generation and Ive always very much admired them, said interim principal Roger Becker. I think I wanted the kids to have that. I think they do. I think the colonel made that point with them.
