Woman runs from Lockport to Rochester

Henrietta, N.Y. - If you want to raise awareness about something you're passionate about, why not go for a 60-mile jog?

Irondequoit's Kelly Nash ran from Buffalo to Rochester for a cause she's passionate about - Heritage Christian Services.

Nash is an employee at the non-profit, which is celebrating 30 years of bettering the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.

"It was beautiful when we started. We had a little good luck sprinkle and the canal was just spectacular when I first got in," said Nash.

"It was a beautiful experience and I was able to share it with so many of my friends that you see here," the runner said, pointing to the crowd that greeted her at the Pieters Family Life Center in Henrietta, which is part of Heritage.

Nash has raised more than $2,600 through her fundraising page for the local non-profit.

As for rest, she says she hopes to sleep in a little bit longer than usual Sunday morning.
