Man admits he pretended to be eye doctor

Tonawanda, N.Y./Pittsford, N.Y. - A man from the Buffalo area is now paying for pretending to be a licensed optometrist in Monroe County.

45-year-old Shamil Tadros of Tonawanda was given a three-year conditional discharge. He admitted to fraud while operating Pittsford Optical between 2000 and 2013.

He has paid back more than $115,000 to customers and completed 150 hours of community service.

His case will be closed if he meets all of his conditions.
